The project aims for sustainable urban regeneration of Piazza Mercato in Montegrotto Terme through a new multifunctional covered structure, inspired by the thermal territory and the widespread Venetian city. The shape of the structure reflects urban analysis, following the distribution of thermal points and the elongation of building bodies along the streets. The main pathways, inspired by the cardo and decumanus, connect Corso Terme to the south and via Siesalunga to the north, linking parking lots and pavilions and facilitating the use of the market. The pavilions, modular and flexible, amplify existing activities without interfering with them, allowing for events, exchanges, and various gatherings. The new cover includes the possibility of installing photovoltaic panels, audio-visual, hydraulic, and misting systems, and collecting rainwater in storage tanks for the surrounding greenery. The modular organization in steel and aluminum allows for sustainable construction and reuse of materials. The project also includes permeable paving and an increase in green areas to reduce the urban heat island effect. The structure, conceived as a "bare" and flexible architecture, defines specific spaces and moments of social interaction, making the area more usable and enhancing the existing urban context.
